What's Next

We have had a relaxing time here on Great Harbor Cay.  We managed to ride our bikes on every road on the island doing about 20 mile days.  This may not seem like a great distance but considering we're on bikes with 20 inch wheels and doing some real hills with only 6 gears, we are pleased with ourselves.  In fact, we were at a bar Saturday night and people recognized us as "You're those people on the little red bikes."  Good to leave a legacy wherever you go.
We have a good weather window, sadly not a great one, to cross the Gulf Stream today so we'll be off in about an hour.  We'll have a bit of a head wind but not too much of one so we'll do our first significant motoring of the trip.  Considering we've come over 1200 miles that is not bad.  Our pocketbooks appreciate all the winds coming from the right direction in the past.  Hopefully that will continue once we reach Florida.  We plan to enter at West Palm Beach cut since we hear that the more direct St. Lucie inlet has shoaling problems.  It doesn't save time to run aground so we'll take the 20 mile hit to stay safe.  We are looking forward to the Okeechobee and we should have lots of pictures to share.  Stay tuned!
