Last of Nassau

It was a short stay in Nassau all by our lonesomes, no Dulcinea or Sandy Beach.  We still met some nice people, just like everywhere else.  We had our laundry done, boat washed and shopping done which coincided with a weather window so off we went.
There were several boats alongside this pier.  It must be a wrecking yard for so many to be there.  What a sad state to think these were all once some one's pride and joy.

You can tell it's getting close to serious racing season.  These maxi racers were just north of the cruise ship piers.  The famous FFFF regatta is beginning in Little Farmer's this weekend.  The Class C boats raced in Staniel Cay the week before our arrival.  Nassau has its own series of races coming up.  We can attest to the fact that the wind blows in the Bahamas.

We saw quite a few megayachts when we were in Nassau during Christmas but the harbor was packed with them on this visit.  This was typical of the boats all along every pier.  Its tender, the smaller motor vessel was probably a little shorter than our boat.  What a tremendous display of wealth.

On our way in a month ago we were just trying to survive the busy harbor and didn't notice this house on the way in.  It is a guest cottage for the big house on the mainland (Paradise Island side).  They can invite me anytime.
