More Boot Key Pictures

This is but one of many abandoned boats in the area. It's too expensive to raise the
and then dispose of them so people just walk away.  If the authorities can find the
owners they try and force them to take responsibility.  Rarely does it work.  Sadly
this is all along any waterway in Florida.

We had to meet this guy. We have several family members who live in this tiny town.
Turns out he loves the hill country of Texas where Driftwood
is located.  He is living aboard and said he has to be from somewhere so he picked
Driftwood.  His favorite place on earth is The Saltlick.  He would be in good company
in my family.

I wonder if they watch that show on hoarding!  This is not an uncommon look for
the many live aboards in the area.  Interestingly, the boat's name is Kokopeli and hails
from Santa Fe, NM.  Their dingy's name is Hopi.  I haven't met them yet to learn their
story.

The irony of the boat name and condition couldn't be passed up.  I think
they picked the wrong path.

The open back is our achilles heel in the rain.  We rig up something as best
we can.

Sancturay with the side panels in.
Angry iguana, he was protecting the one in the background

Good thing this bridge is closed.

Boot Key mangroves

Wonderful spot for lunch and lounging.

This place is less than 100 yards from the above buisness.  I guess their
business plan wasn't as solid.

One of the many, many canals on Vaca Key.
