More Pictures

All right all you pirtes out there, say "AARRR". This was a tourist boat in the river between Ft. Meyers and Ft. Meyers Beach. They started and ended each trip with a cannon blast. They were docked only a short distance from where we moored so we were happy to learn that they stopped cruises at 9pm. This was our first effort at mooring and it went very well, or so we're told. We didn't have much time to spend there since we wanted to get a bit further south ahead of storms. We plan to visit on the way back.

This is what is looks like going under a bridge. This is much better than hitting one!

The last marks on the ICW before it cuts into Lake Okeechobee and over to the East Coast. The waters are too shallow below Ft. Meyer's to maintain an inland waterway. That and the Everglades are in the way.

This is one reason the Coast Guard has to work so hard maintaining the ICW marks. I can imagine the story,"Really officer I only had one drink".

We've run across (actually beside) a few of these swing bridges. They really look cool from the water. The bridge tender rides on a platform in the middle of the bridge so he can see when the boats are safely through on either side.
